2003
Sinds 1 Augustus 2003 is Yamaha Motor een 3-weg overeenkomst aangegaan met Linhai Power Machinery Group Corporation en Yamaha Motor's joint venture voor de productie van multifunctionele motoren. Linhai Yamaha Motor Company Limited, bekend als "LYM", is daarmee de productie eigenaar geworden van onderandere multifunctionele motoren voor een zeer breed segment, zoals UTV, ATV, en motorfietsen. Deze samenwerking tussen Yamaha en Linhai betekend dat er complete quads en motorfietsen gemaakt gaan worden in de Linhai fabriek, onder toeziend oog van Yamaha.

2007
Sinds de herfst van 2004 is de samenwerking met Yamaha actief en 3 jaar later, in 2007, is de volledige productie van de Yamaha engines overgeplaatst naar de Linhai fabriek in Taizhou City, provincie Jiangsu te China. Vanaf 2007 worden de Yamaha motoren geproduceerd door Linhai. Dat is wel iets om trots op te mogen zijn.
